Hawaii - Part 1

And now, the first of (many) Hawaii '08 posts! There are so many pictures to choose from, so this will just be a sampling of our vacation! We had an unbelievable time, and hope to go back again some day.

The Hammers arrived in Kauai about four hours before we did, so they took their luggage to the resort and checked into our condo for the week. We stayed in a 2 bedroom/2 bath apartment like place, with full kitchen and living room and balcony overlooking the huge pool and OCEAN! It was so much fun to get to just kind of "live" with the Hammers for a week, and not be in hotel rooms with no common living space! We watched tv, and movies, and danced to our iPods, and cooked several dinners together, and had breakfast on the balcony, and just thoroughly enjoyed that time together! Anyway, so after checking in, Noa and Julie came back to pick us up at the airport. They gave us BEAUTIFUL leis that smelled so wonderful, and we were totally ecstatic to be with them again!!

Noa and Mike got "lei'd" - insert junior high boys giggles! :)

Julie and Jess in the airport. Huge smiles all around.

Fitting four people, four suitcases, and a huge golf travel case into a two door Jeep was a challenge. So Julie and I held suitcases on our laps, Mike held his golf case, we took the top down (so much fun!) and off we went to see our new digs!

And here's the view from our balcony!! Are you JOKING me?! We just all stood around and giggled for a few minutes upon checking in. Seriously not believing this was what we got to do for a week.

And now, on to more posts! Stay tuned.

I love that you guys stayed in a place together instead of two seperate hotel rooms....its so much more fun that way! Cooking dinner can actually be fun when you are doing it in Hawaii with your best buds.
