Our mornings are so sweet with little mister. He sleeps until close to 8am, so I am usually well rested by the time he's up & moving. This is only because I have started setting an alarm to get up earlier than him - having 30 to 60 minutes alone in a silent house with just my coffee is key to a (more) patient mama that day. Once he's up & moving, and breakfast is finished, a new day of exploring and playing begins. Watching him learn and play is one of the simplest sources of joy I've ever experienced.
This particular morning, he wanted to look through our wedding album. He was surprisingly gentle for a one year old, and we talked about all the people he might know in it, and it was really sweet to watch. Life full circle!
His grandma Trish & auntie Sarah gave him this CAT truck for his first birthday and it remains one of his favorite toys.
I love his baby squat! He makes truck noises when he plays, total boy.
He still crosses his ankles when he eats. And I still think it's the cutest thing ever!! Look how small he was doing it HERE!
Morning has always been my favorite time of day anyway, but isn't my little sidekick in jammies & chubby bare feet the best addition to mornings ever? Besides the really strong coffee. Getting alone time before he's up HELPS, but coffee is a must too ;)
