AE Adventures

We had such a great time with the Eddys on their Colorado visit last weekend!! And I think they were very surprised to find that it was actually warmer here than in southern California when they left! We're working on getting them to move out, as we are all our favorite people :)

One afternoon while I had to work, Mike took them up to Estes where they saw tons of wildlife and a little snow. Estes is always one of our favorite places to take visitors - it has the most beautiful panoramic views and you'd be hard-pressed to make a trip up there and not see elk!
Amy took a run one morning with Sarge, which further indebted him to her!! They got to be very good friends :) On New Year's Day we took a beautiful hike up Horsetooth Rock west of Fort Collins. It overlooks the city and is a really fun hike. Sarge and Mike posed for many a pic! Yet another beautiful view.

The boys (all three!) hiking across a snowy area.

Mike and Jim.
The day was an awesome start to 2009! Sunny and in the upper 50s for most of the hike.

Another view. It was my and Mike's first time on this hike, surprisingly. It won't be our last! We loved it.

The horse teeth in the background, behind Jim and Amy. From the city looking up, it seriously looks just like a horse tooth! This is up close.

Sarge and his best Aunt Kate up on top of the rock.

My cute little family!

Another shot of the horse teeth :)

This is overlooking Fort Collins from the top. The road you can see down the middle of the picture runs straight through the middle of town, and is called - not surprisingly! - Horsetooth Road :)

AE Adventures at their best!
This is the night we took the Eddys out to one of our favorite restaurants, Nordy's. It's DELICIOUS bar-b-que!
We did lots of at-home cooking, too, while they were visiting. They are great cooks and we actually learned a lot and had a fun time using our kitchen! This is the 5-minute Rachael Ray tiramisu Amy whipped up. Mmmmm!
And my new favorite appetizer, caprese salad. And I don't even like tomatoes usually!
Goofing off in the kitchen. Nice New Year's hat, days later!

Thanks guys, for coming out for a good long visit! We had the BEST time with you guys. And you made the blog!! :)

Looks like a BLAST!!!! Love that Mike never misses an oppurtunity to make that face into the camera (the knife photo). All the pictures are superb, as ususal, but the tirimisu (sp?) pic looks straight out of a magazine!!
