Mike's friends threw him a going-away party last night. It was such a good time. We barbequed in the rain and ate camo-cake (thanks, Jen!) and took 1,000 pictures and laughed till we cried and toasted Mike with champagne. It was a fun reunion of all his closest residency friends and their wives, and we had a great time catching up and enjoying their friendships. Jen even cut out pictures of Mike's head and glued them to little Army men as favors - everyone took one home to remember to think of and pray for Mike! The boys presented him with a stellar knife and super-power flashlight to use in Iraq. And it was wonderful for me to see how much they all support him. The sad part is, it was one of the first "real" goodbyes and I'm just not sure how ready I am for that.

We had a great time last night, too. The green Mike-headed army men are still cracking me up. :-)We'll all be thinking of Mike a lot for the next 3 months. Remember we're here for you anytime, anyplace Jess!! Love ya!
Jen
When does Mike leave? I'll be praying for you!
I added your blog to my links.
Should someone tell him he is going to Iraq NOT Hawaii!!!!
How come we weren't invited to the send-off party? What's up with that? We would have totally flown in. :) The pictures of the "par-tay" remind me of a LOT of great times par-tay-ing with the Apostles AND friends in JAX. Aaah. Those were the good times.
