France was amazing! We had ports of call in Marseilles and Villefranche, which is just a few minutes bus ride from Nice, France. The water was amazingly clear and blue - and in Nice is where I got to dip my toes in the Mediterranean water for the first time!!
On our day in Nice, Rob & Mike split off from the group and rented a car for a driving tour of the south of France. They hit up Cannes, Monte Carlo, and much of the beautiful countryside. Here, they stopped for lunch at an outdoor cafe. Looks like there is something on Mike's head but it's just the person sitting behind them. No way to Photoshop that one out :)

Well the rental car company only had one vehicle left: a 9 passenger van. So it was the two of them driving that beast around on the most narrow roads, but they had a blast regardless!

Love the Med! There isn't sand there, just rocks, which are much less messy I'll have to say. They actually were really smooth so didn't even hurt to walk around on. It was really awesome to wade in.

We did lots of walking around on cute little streets lined with shops and apartments. I loved the city of Nice.
And on to Marseilles....it's a little shipping port city, so there wasn't a whole lot to do right off the ship. We took a bus into the town of Aix-en-Provence, though, which was amazing! Stopped of course to have cappuccino at a little outdoor cafe, which lined the streets.
The leaves were starting to change there and our time walking around was really beautiful and quaint.

We found crepes for lunch of course!! This is one of my favorite pics of our trip.

I remember when Mike used to make crepes for breakfast when we were kids...I think it was during his French class.
