Med 09 - Cruising

And now begins the multitude of our "Med '09" posts!! I know some of you have been waiting with bated breath.

For those of you who didn't know, we just returned from our latest Apostle Adventure: two weeks traveling around Europe with some of our bestest FoCoCo friends. We took a seven day cruise on Royal Caribbean's Voyager of the Seas - ironically, the same ship we honeymooned on six years ago. Our cruise itinerary started and ended in Barcelona Spain, and included Naples, Rome & Florence Italy and Nice & Marseilles France. After the cruise we spent another week traveling around three cities in Spain. So following this post are three more overviews on each country. Please excuse the random picture order - time was of the essence today trying to get the blog updated so I didn't want to waste it fighting with Blogger :)

Here are the highlights from our time on the ship!

Waiting to board in Barcelona.

Guy time. Mike, Rob, Sean and Jeff. Most of you know Rob and the Koepps (or know OF them I should say).......the other couple that joined us was Sean & Tiffany. Jeff and Sean work together and Sean and Mike and Tiff actually went to Westmont together but reconnected in Fort Collins when Mike & Sean ran into each other at work......small world! Just keeping y'all updated on who is who (you're welcome Mom :)).

The whole cruise crew hanging out in one of the ship's bars one night. They had live Irish music every night at this bar so you know my Hubs was in HEAVEN!!

Here they are with Duncan, the Irish guy (lad?) who serenaded us each night. He was awesome!! The guys went up one night and sang a Poison song with Duncan, who learned the tune but didn't know the words. There was much cheering from the audience!

Pic of the Sky Bar, a really cool little lounge overlooking the whole ship. We hung out at tables there most evenings before dinner playing games or just chatting.

B & me on the deck of the ship - the very windy deck, clearly.

One of our formal nights. Look at my handsome chaperones! And my fun new headband :)

Formal night again with my Hubs.

Random: at the Denver airport with our crew before departure. Sean & Tiff traveled a few days ahead of us to spend some time in Spain before the cruise, as they had to return back to the States immediately afterwards. The "Windsor crew" as we like to call ourselves, was able to get on all the same flights which was so much fun!

Mike & Rob acting like pirates, imitating the cute towel animal. Or something.

Our whole crew at dinner. There was much hysterical laughing at our table. We got some funny looks but we sure had a great time!

Formal night with the Koeppsters.

Hands down, our favorite part of each day was when the ship left port at night. We had the most amazing sunsets, and we all stood on our balconies and watched the ship pull out into the open sea. It was wonderful.

Koepps on their balcony.

Our cute little room! Loved sleeping with the door open at night listening to the waves.

So there's the start to our amazing vacation!!
Stay tuned for posts on Italy, France and Spain....

Just had the best time reading the vacation blog!
Thanks for putting out the blog with all the pics so quickly...because you are right...all your loyal fans were eager to get some details about his amazing adventure!
Looks like such a phenomenal time! I'm trying to think what was my favorite part of reading your blog. I'm glad to hear that the Coliseum didn't disappoint...because I've kind of always thought I might not be the same if I had a chance to stand there...it sounds like it blew your mind. I think the wine you shared on your new friends' balcony in Spain must have been the best wine ever. Cool story and hook-up. The "leaving in tears" from the bullfight is so you, Jess. Gunnar and Sadie appreciate your sensitivity. The European travel hats on Jeff and Brandi...great style...great idea. Does coffee even taste the same now... when its not in an outdoor European cafe???
So glad it was such a great trip for you two!!! We miss you both!!!
