Okay, so we didn't send Christmas gifts to Japan this year...mostly because we were welcoming Mike home from Iraq, packing up our house, and moving across the country and somehow making it to the post office didn't happen. So we celebrated Christmas with the Hammers when they got here Saturday. Complete with Christmas wrapping paper. It was fun to open presents together, celebrating holidays together was a Hampostle favorite and we really miss that.
Additionally, we got several inches of snow on Saturday night and Sunday morning, so Easter arrived snowy and cold - but not too cold for a Sunday hike in the mountains. It was absolutely beautiful, and absolutely freezing. But we really enjoyed the fresh air and it was fun to show the Hammers what Colorado life is really about. Hiking has become one of our favorite activities here; sun, rain or snow!
It was a fun start to a great week with Noa and Julie. They remain our closest friends, despite living on different continents!

It was a beautiful hike...made amazing by the fact that you live so close to such a location. Some favorite memories on the hike:
1) getting to know the "Super Seeba"s...especially talking to Shellie about her unique career path and to Clayton about sports until Mike could no longer stand it...so funny.
2) Screaming when Jess pretended to push me down the ice-packed cliff. Thanks Jess. Important to note, it was a low-pitched guttural kind of scream...really quite masculine.
3) Screaming when Mike jumped out from under the bridge...a position he had staked out after he had zoomed ahead of Clayton and me who were busy talking about sports...again a masculine scream.
And those are only a few highlights....a pretty event-filled hike. Loved it.
Oh...and thanks again for the Christmas presents. Amazing. I put the "gangsta" magnet up in my office...cause you know..."I'm a little gangsta myself."
