Sarge and Kate and I spent Saturday afternoon at the dog park with Julie and the Hammer pups. We had a great time wearing them out and catching up with Kate. Sarge took his first real swim - we knew he liked to wade in the water at the park but he'd never actually swam. As soon as we got there, and mind you it was 90+ degrees out, he took off and jumped right into the water and swam all the way across the little pond. I laughed so hard. He came out on the other side looking like a drowned rat - but apparently he liked it, because he pretty much stayed in the water the rest of the time we were there! It's so fun to watch him grow and change and see what he likes and doesn't like. Puppyhood can be so challenging but really is so sweet to be a part of too.
